Prayer Requests of the Month

Welcome to my monthly prayer request post! Thank you to those who submitted prayer requests for me to pray for and also to those of you who were willing for me to share them in this post. My mom asked that I not have a contact form anymore, so I won’t be able to receive any of your prayer requests any more.

Let’s get started. First let us remember that the God we pray to is holy, holy, holy. He is above everything and anything. He is not only above everything, he created everything. Sin cannot be in the presence of God, but God wants us to be with him so much that he was willing to send his one and only Son to be crucified, so that we could be cleansed of our sin.

So first, confess your sin to God (and/or confess to a brother or sister in Christ) and ask God to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. He is faithful to forgive. Do not take the privilege of prayer and communion with the Holy God of all creation for granted. Jesus died a horrible death to grant it to you. Accept this privilege with awe, wonder, and worship.

“Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness;
According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity
And cleanse me from my sin.” -Psalm 51:1-2

“Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from Your presence
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation
And sustain me with a willing spirit.” -Psalm 51:10-12

“And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” -Mark 11:25

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” -1 John 1:9

“Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” -Hebrews 4:16

Here are the two prayer requests I received to be shared here:

  • Skipping Adolescence said: “Would you pray that God would help me be more loving and joyful and that I would be bold for Him?”
  • Hannah Gaudette said “My prayer request is for my mom. For the first time since I was born, she is working outside the home. She is having a really hard time with this, I think partly because she has always felt she would work from home. It’s a temporary job, but I really want her to have peace with it and not worry or feel anxious.”

Here are my two prayer requests:

  • Prayer for Rachel Dye who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer about three months ago. You can learn more her at her blog here.
  • Prayer that God would equip me to share the gospel and to be a light in all that I do.

Please lift up these prayer requests!

Thank you for your prayer!

“With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” -Ephesians 6:18-20 (NASB)

Monthly Prayer Request Post- October

Welcome to my monthly prayer request post. (Also know that I was originally planning to post this post on Monday, but was too busy). I would love to share other people’s prayer requests in this post in the future, but since nobody shared any with me, I’m going to share two big prayer requests I ask y’all to pray for.

The first is for a young mother at my church that was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer about two months ago. She and her husband, my church’s worship leader, are the parents of three children 5 and under. Her determination and faith in God is so inspiring. I look up to her more than she could ever know. Some sweet friends made this song for her. It made me crying, knowing her. Her name is Rachel Dye

Please visit her blog here for updates and more information.

Please pray for Rachel Dye!

My second prayer request is for me. I’m struggling to understand God’s will for me regarding his call for me to go out and proclaim the gospel. I long with all my heart to share the gospel with those who are perishing, yet here I am, here. Nothing is happening, and meanwhile I am crying out to God “Oh, Lord, send me!”. Please pray that God would use me to proclaim the Word. Please pray that God would give me wisdom! I do not know what the next steps should be, and I want to honor my parents in everything! I want to share this vision with everyone around me. But when will action come? I just pray that God would prepare the hearts of those whom God is going to use me in bringing to the knowledge of the truth. For more on this subject, please read this post.

So please pray. Pray that God will be glorified. Pray that his name will be lifted high.

“Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” – Philippians 2:8-11 (NASB)

Also, once again, I would love to be praying for you, as you lift up the prayer requests that I have shared. I’ve made a prayer request form here. If you simply want to share wisdom, advice, or encouragement with me, please contact me here.

Here are some verses on prayer:

“But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” -Acts 6:4 (NASB)

“Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving” -Colossians 4:2 (NASB)

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” -Philippians 4:6 (NASB)

“We give thanks to God always for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers;”-1 Thessalonians 1:2 NASB

“First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men” -1 Timothy 2:1 (NASB)

“Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness!
You have relieved me in my distress;
Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.” -Psalms 4:1 (NASB)

“In the morning, O Lord, You will hear my voice;
In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch.” -Psalm 5:3 (NASB)

“For the Lord has built up Zion;
He has appeared in His glory.
He has regarded the prayer of the destitute
And has not despised their prayer.” -Psalm 102:16-17 (NASB)

“The Lord has heard my supplication,
The Lord receives my prayer.” -Psalm 6:9 (NASB)

“In my trouble I cried to the Lord,
And He answered me.” -Psalm 120:1 (NASB)

Have wonderful day, and the Lord bless you!

My Prayer Request

My dear friends, the real purpose of this post, other than to thank you for being so wonderful, is to ask you to pray. I really want to ask for you guys to pray for a certain lady at my church. She has 3 children under six, one of which is still a baby. She was just recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has metastasized into her liver and lymph nodes. Our church is really praying for her, and I want to ask you to pray for her to. She is very well-loved, and her husband is also our worship leader at my church. Please ask God to heal her, and to help her and her family, as they go through this hardship. Thank you!

[Update: Rachel has been healed of cancer! We are so thankful! She still has more chemo and other treatments to get any remaining undetected cancer out of her system. She could still really use your prayers! Visit her blog at racheldye.com to hear recent updates.]

God is our refuge and strength,
    a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
    though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea” -Psalms 46:1-2 (ESV)
