It’s been 2 years.

Hello dear readers,

It’s so crazy to think that it has been a full two years. I wish I had more to share with you all, but really I’m just thankful that you all want to follow and read my blog.

Looking back at my first few followers, I’m so amazed and thankful for those followers who have been with me almost since the beginning.

Thank you so much to those who have been there since almost the beginning as well as those who have just now stumbled across my blog.

God has done so much in my life through this blog. It makes me smile a bit to look back on my very first two blog posts.

In the two years since February 19, 2018, God has changed me a lot. I’m still very much the same, but when I really look back, God has indeed been working in my life. I’m so, so thankful for that. Thank you readers, for the part you have all played in my blog, and the work God is doing in me through it. I cannot wait to see what He brings in the next year and all the years beyond.

“So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord.
His going forth is as certain as the dawn;
And He will come to us like the rain,
Like the spring rain watering the earth.”

-Hosea 6:3 (NASB)

Hello again……

Hello! It’s been a little while since I last posted! I sort of had a month-long unannounced hiatus thing. Basically for the last four or five Saturdays something was going on or I was just too busy.

I have no idea how often I’ll be posting in the future, although I know I want to take a complete break in August. I love blogging and I greatly enjoy it and it means a lot to me that people read my blog, so thank you so much!

My life has in so many ways been kinda crazy lately. God has been teaching me so much that I can’t even begin to tell all of y’all. Above all….He is there. Always. No matter what.

He has been showing me that everything apart from Him can fall apart and will fall apart. Yet through it all, He is not only there, but He is who He is, loving, gracious, merciful, just, and true, in everything. He’s been teaching me that emotion is not something to run from and that I need brothers and sisters alongside me.

So here I am again.

In case you were wondering Oliver is doing splendidly. He is in the process of being weaned…..which he does not quite admire. I’m sure he would prefer a little bit more milk but he’s getting big and he needs to start eating grass as his primary source of food.

As for goats……they’re all big and weaned and off somewhere having the time of there lives, whatever that means. I don’t keep track of them very well. I have typically been sticking with cows and chickens. And my dog.

About three weeks I got some (aka a lot) of nice shots of scenery around here and I just now got to editing and processing them and spent most of yesterday trying to figure out why they wouldn’t upload.

So now, to make this an actual post here are my favorites.

The sunbeams were awesome.

grazing-calf-in-sungroup-cows-in-sun-as-Smart-Object-1

This was a super sweet momma cow and her calf.

sweet-momma-and-calf-as-Smart-Object-1

Two with grass as foreground.

And of course after a while……Oliver saw me. As he hadn’t yet had his bottle at that point, he came running. I was just barely able to snap this picture before he was slobbering all over my jeans.

And finally, a silhouette of some blooming roses set against a fading sunset.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for all the nominating and tagging! I really appreciate it even though, I don’t think I do very many of them, at least not any time soon.

This week’s featured song is My Portion and My Strength by Ellie Holcomb.

May you find your portion and your strength in Him!

God be with you.

“But You, O LORD, are a shield about me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head.”

-Psalm 3:3 (NASB)

Some Liebster Awards

I’ve been getting nominated a lot for stuff lately. And being as I didn’t really have a good post idea for today, I figured I’d do a couple of them.

Actually I’ll “only” be doing two because that’s all that I remember.

I was nominated by Hannah at A Need To Breathe and Elisha at Africa Boy

RULES

  1.  Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  2. Display your award.
  3. Answer the questions you were asked.
  4. Nominate 5 other bloggers.
  5. Ask 6 new questions.
  6. Let your nominees know they were nominated and give them a link to your post.

Thank you Hannah!

For once I’m actually doing it in order!

Hannah’s Questions

Would you rather live near the ocean (tourist town) or on a mountain (totally isolated)?

I detest this question. The selfish answer is on a mountain. However being as the Bible says:

“Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire;
he breaks out against all sound judgment.” -Proverbs 18:1 (ESV)

Then I suppose it would be less selfish to live in a tourist town especially being as that would be a good opportunity for evangelism.

Do you prefer the middle of winter or the middle of summer, and why?

Middle of the winter. It’s colder.

Would you rather work with a therapy dog, a therapy cat, or a therapy horse on a daily basis, and why?

Therapy dog? ‘Cause I like dogs. Next would probably come therapy horse.

What is your favorite personality trait (in others AND in yourself)?

Patience and a willingness to listen.

Would you choose to be a writer, an editor, or an English professor?

An editor. 🙂

If you had to become an advocate, what would be your cause?

I would be an advocate of voiceless, the fatherless, and the helpless.

Thank you Elisha!

19576363_10154748147598596_651762976_n.png

Elisha’s Questions

If you had the choice to grow or shrink, what would you choose?

I would probably shrink. I don’t tend to like to be the center of attention…..very insightful question.

Do you play any sports?

Nope.

Favorite animal?

1) My dog.

2) My calf.

3) A nice old fashioned large teddy bear.

What is your funniest childhood memory?

I have no idea.

Favorite movie?

Currently Unplanned.

I have lots, though, among which are Mom’s Night Out, Sound of Music, Courageous, Pride and Prejudice, Gifted Hands, Faith Like Potatoes, Amazing Grace, How To Train Your Dragon, Up, Fiddler on the Roof, The Andy Griffith Show, Ratatouille, and Love Comes Softly. Was this supposed to be an exhaustive list? Oops. “Movie” was singular.

Marvel or DC?

I’m new to them both. In fact I don’t think I’ve watched a DC movie. So I guess you could say Marvel?

My Nominees:

My Questions

  1. What is the hardest thing about writing anything?
  2. What are some things you do when you are feeling down?
  3. What is the most beautiful thing that you can see right now?
  4. What are your thoughts on what God’s will is and how find/seek it?
  5. Which of the fruits of the spirit would you say you are struggling with the most right now? (Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control)
  6. What is a passage or verse that you go to often?

That is the fastest I have ever done a nomination. Ever. Wow. Probably because I didn’t over think the questions and gave really quick answers to the questions I was given. Also there was only 5 people I had to nominate. A lot quicker than 11-20 people.

Have a great week!

I will leave you with this psalm, one of my favorite psalm as well as on eof the most challenging ones.

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brothers to dwell together in unity!

It is like the precious oil upon the head,
Coming down upon the beard,
Even Aaron’s beard,
Coming down upon the edge of his robes.

It is like the dew of Hermon
Coming down upon the mountains of Zion;
For there the LORD commanded the blessing—life forever” -Psalm 133 (NASB)

And, of course, this week’s featured song will be Hineh Ma Tov, otherwise known as “How Good and Pleasant” or Psalm 133.

Enjoy!

What Have I Been Doing All This Time?

I’m back! (If you didn’t notice on Saturday) So……….what all have I done while I was away from WordPress?

First, If you are new to my blog and have no idea what in the world I am talking about read this post. Then come back, and read this one.

I did lots of things while I was gone. Thanks to my Saviour, I was able to be very productive. However, that’s not to say that I didn’t mess up a lot, struggle with pride, laziness, sin, et cetera, and waste a lot of time that could’ve been spent in better ways. Obviously, I have a lot of my own problems and struggles, but that doesn’t mean I’m not blessed or that I’m not growing. God has promised that he WILL perfect me into the image and likeness of his son, Jesus.

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;” -Romans 8:28-29 (NASB)

So here’s what I did with my break from blogging!

  • I read books. I mean LOTS of books!!!

I reread Mansfield Park(It’s my second favorite Jane Austen novel. Northanger Abbey is my favorite)

I read Sir Gibby by George MAcDonald (just so you know George MacDonald is my favorite Author). It was an awesome (I mean an AWESOME) book! You should read it if you have time.

I read When People Are Big and God Is Small by Edward T. Welch. No matter who you are, you need to read this book. It’s practically life-changing. In fact it is life-changing. I am so glad I read it. This was (and is for that matter) a wonderful book!

I read This Changes Everything: How the Gospel Transforms the Teen Years by Jaquelle Crowe. It was also a wonderful book. You should read it.

I read Will Our Generation Speak? by Grace Mally. This is probably the most impacting book I have read. I wrote a post about it here. Please read that post if you can. It is more important than this post. If you can’t buy this book, please try finding it at you local library, or try requesting it from them. You absolutely need to read this book. It needs to be at the very top of your “To Read” list right now!

I’m reading (as in I’m not quite finished) Don’t Waste Your Life by John Piper. It’s good so far.

I’m reading Anxious For Nothing by Max Lucado. Already, I recommend it. Particularly if you struggle with anxiety. Max Lucado has a balanced view of anxiety, in my opinion. Anxiety is not a sin. So don’t be anxious about being anxious. It’s a really good book so far.

I’m reading The Potters Promise by Leighton Flowers. I’m really enjoying this book. With all the other books I’ve been reading, somehow I haven’t finished this book, but so far it has been wonderful. It’s a biblical defense of traditional soteriology, which is really refreshing. Do get it and read it! Even if you’re a Calvinist, it will at least give you an accurate view of the other side.

I’m reading A Father Offers His Son by Scott Lapierre. It’s looking pretty good so far. Look out for a post on this book

I’m in the middle of reading other books too, but I will oblige you and move on from books.

  • I processed and canned food!

My current count of canned tomatoes is 11 pints and 11 quarts

My current count on applesauce is 30 quarts and more on the way.

It’s been lots of fun and a lot of work (!!), and I’m excited to see how many cans of applesauce will get on the canning shelf this year. I’m already at a record!!! This has been my very first time canning tomatoes, so that was also exciting. We have a really nice pressure canner which made the canning process turn out a lot easier than I expected.

  • I fed and then weaned two adorable baby kids (as in goats).

Chibi and Fudgesickle have grown up! See this post here for their cute baby pictures! They are still small (small enough to be master escape artists….ugh, how many times have we put them back in their pen today?), but they are both big enough to eat grass on their own and not drink from a bottle! Hurray!!

IMG_1467 as Smart Object-1

  • Rain came!! (Yeah, that was a while ago..) We were excited after a summer of mostly no rain. (Did it rain this summer? Maybe sometime…I don’t remember) Anyway, here are pictures of our first “real” rain shower. Once again these are from weeks ago. How did it get to be October?

Fun with water droplets and fun with Photoshop!

  • I grew a lot in my faith. I read a lot of scripture. And I’ve begun something that I still think is a little crazy, to say the least. I read an article (you can read it here) that I got from one of the books I read. It was talking about “extended scripture memorization” and how we need to do it. Like…memorizing whole chapters? No….like memorizing whole books!! So here I am, trying to memorize the whole book of Philippians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s going better than I thought. So far, I’ve memorized up to Philippians 1:10. I’m supposed to have it all memorized by the end of February 2019. So, I guess you’ll have to keep me accountable!

  • I’ve been called.

Let me explain. I could’ve said “I’ve been convicted”, but I wanted to get your attention first. This is really important. I’ve been called to share the gospel and I’ve been convicted about my lack of sharing the gospel. You should read this post. When talking to my dad about how the Lord’s been pulling on my heart for the unsaved around me, and the need I felt for us to go out into the world to evangelize, my dad told me “I believe that we are all called to evangelize. But I think you have a special calling for this”. At the moment I just said “Really?” and sort of laughed it off. But when reflecting on it, I was scared! Why me, anyway? The most evangelism I’ve ever done would be leading a bible study at a Christian outreach camp as a counselor. This doesn’t make sense. But then I feel this tugging on my heart and I wonder…………is God calling me in a special way to evangelism? Anyway, I could use some prayer in this area.

  • I’ve gotten lots of planning done and renergized
  • My vision for this blog has been refreshed and refocused
  • Fall calving began. Which means….lots of really cute calves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Cows were released onto fall pasture and really enjoyed the green lush grass. “After all it is better than…….didn’t we eat grass in the summer too? I mean we had some hay too, but….well anyway it was good.” Oh, sorry the cows decided to start talking!
  • I’ve drafted a couple blog posts in a notebook…..this is actually one of them.
  • We finished our buck barn.
  • We hatched two chicks and our chicks that we bought grew up a lot!
  • I’m pretty sure I did more than that, but that’s about all I can think of right now!

What have I been up to now that I’m back?

Schoolwork for one thing. Farm-work for another. Stacking firewood, doing cattle roundups, helping with various farm projects. Writing these blog posts. Praying, studying, crying, laughing, smiling, reading, cooking, listening, waiting, and everything else. I’m planning to revamp the photo gallery soonish. It has some problems, such as not loading very well and needing to be updating. I’m planning to add some other things too.

What have you been up to? What has the Lord been showing you in your life? I would love to hear from you via my contact form here! It always makes my day to hear from you guys!

If you’re wondering what my schedule is, I’ll tell you. I don’t have one! I may post on Mondays. I may post on Wednesdays. I’ll usually post on Saturdays. If I don’t have anything I won’t post. But if I do have a profitable post to post, I will! Wednesdays will usually be around the area of farm life, photography, et cetera, and Saturdays will usually be about what the Lord has been laying on my heart spiritually. But I’m gonna be flexible.

Have a wonderful day!!!

“No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.” -John 15:15 (NASB)

The 100 Follower Giveaway and Q&A

Hello Everyone!!! I’ve been waiting for this moment all week! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

It is time to find out who has won the giveaway.

FIRST PRIZE:

Hannah Gaudette

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You can check out her blog here and make sure to follow it. She’s a farm-girl like me, loves cats, writes, and does all sorts of other things. Hannah, I will be giving you your prize shortly.

SECOND PRIZE:

Jaguar/ Faye

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You can check out one of her blogs here. She has many blogs. She is an Alaskan, plays cello, writes realistic fiction, and has two dogs, Kenai and Juneau. Jaguar, I will be giving you your prize shortly.

Now for the Q&A:

Here goes!

Favorite smell? Umm….food cooking I guess? Maybe brownies or banana bread or Alfredo or oven fried chicken or……………….really just food.

If you had to change your name what would you change it to? Hmmm…..I guess I kind of like the name Jessica. But that wouldn’t really match. I suppose since my pen-name is Faith, then that is what I would change it to.

Favorite School Subject History!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or reading Jane Austen novels. Or Theology if that counts as a subject.

Tea or Coffee? Why would you ask me such a question! Coffee is gross and tea is just warm water that is flavored weird. Maybe a glass of milk instead…….I mean tea is great when you’re sick but it’s not that enjoyable otherwise. Coffee is for when you have had less than 5 hours of sleep two days in a row, and tea is for when you have a sore throat or are losing your voice. Otherwise….I’ll skip the tea and coffee.

Favorite Bible Character? Either David or Ester

Breakfast of Dinner? Dinner. Besides, I can be rather inconsistent about eating a proper breakfast, unless I’m going somewhere.

Do you have horses? I wish! Horses are awesome. Horses, pigs, sheep, and waterfowl are the only animals we don’t have. Other than Llamas. And currently turkeys, although we have often had them before.

What camera do you use? I use a Canon EOS 30D. It sort of has dried seawater inside the lens, so I have to Photoshop out the specks in my photos.

Do you go for Apples or Oranges? Technically, I’m allergic to oranges. However, when they’re really good in the winter season, sometimes I’ll bear a mild stomach ache in order to eat one. I absolutely love apples. I could probably eat about 100 every day if it weren’t for lack of supply and common sense. In the end….I think apples are my favorite. They’re awesome. Particularly in Applesauce. Or Apple Crisp. Or fresh off of a tree. Yah, I’m really looking forward to the apples season.

“Lord of the Rings” or “Narnia”? Narnia. Technically, I’ve only read The Hobbit (which I really love, btw), but no one can beat C.S. Lewis (other than George MacDonald), even J. R. R. Tolken.

Dumbledore or Gandalf? Gandalf. I don’t really know who Dumbledore is, but I found out he’s from Harry Potter, and the choice was obvious. I GREATLY dislike the Harry Potter series even though I’ve never read it, which means I am sort of biased. I don’t plan on ever reading Harry Potter and I will never be convinced otherwise. I love Gandalf and I love The Hobbit. So there you go. “There’s only one right answer” as Jaguar put it. The answer is Gandalf.

Ice cream or Pie? THIS SHOULD NEVER BE A QUESTION!!! The clear answer is both. They are inseparable.

Homework or Classwork? Classwork I guess? I’m sort of home-schooled, so it doesn’t make much difference.

Well, there you go, hope you enjoyed this post. To see my precious 50-question Q&A see here.

Remember, starting Sunday, the 23rd, I will be disappearing from WordPress for a while. See why here.

See y’all in a while!

“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.“- Galatians 2:20 (NASB)

Further Announcements + Waterfall Pictures

Sorry everyone for the false announcement in my last post, but it turns out when I said I was going to allow comments now, I was disregarding that my mom and I had discussed NOT doing comments when I started my blog, and my mom would still prefer me not have comments. Thus, sorry, no comments.

I’ve been noticing with myself a certain addiction to the WordPress App on my phone. I greatly enjoy looking at my stats and checking my notifications. It almost becomes a struggle to do my bible study time and my time with the Lord before checking my WordPress Notifications. And I don’t like it. I don’t like it at all. I don’t like how consumed I have become with my blog and trying to please everyone who reads it. It has become something I’m trying to do for other people and less something between me and God. Because really, that’s what my blog should be about. Serving God. Loving God. Growing in my relationship with God.

My dear mommy reminded me today, that I shouldn’t just post because well, people want me to post. She said “When you have something on your heart, blog it. When you don’t. Don’t.” I shouldn’t be writing a post unless I think God wants me to write it. When God gives me something to share, I should share it. It’s not about when people want me to post. It’s not about posting the things other people around me want me to post either. It needs to be all for God.

So although I am definitely going to continue my blog, I’m going to write what God wants me to write. If I don’t feel a post is ready, I’m going to wait until it is ready. This means my new additions on Mondays, consistent posts on Saturdays, Farm-Life posts, anything else I said I might do, won’t necessarily be happening.

“But consistent posts on you blog is how you get more followers!”, you say. I know. But how many followers I have doesn’t really matter. All that matters is that I am doing what God wants me to do. I want to live for God alone, not for people.

As for my semi-addiction to the WordPress App on my phone, well, here comes my other announcement:

After the giveaway etc. is over I will be “leaving” (taking a break) from WordPress for a little while

Starting a week from now, Saturday, September 22, I will be completely taking myself away from WordPress for a little bit. In other words, I won’t see your posts, like your posts, look at who as liked my posts, or see how many views my blog got. You guys all write such good posts, and I’m sort of sad because I will miss them, but it will be good for me. Think how much more time I will have for reading actual books! I’ll for sure be back by Oct. 20th and maybe a little bit earlier. I’ll miss you guys, but hopefully when I return, I will return full of the joy of the Lord, and ready to share what God has laid on my heart.

Thanks to T. R. Noble and her post here, for helping me to come to this decision.

Before I go I would like to share with you some recent beautiful waterfall photos I got. I absolutely love them.

Goodbye for now, see you at my 100 Follower Celebration post on either Wednesday or Saturday, and hope you have a wonderful day.

Thanks so much for understanding!

In case you didn’t read my last post, I’m having a sort of a giveaway, so check out my post here. Or if you want to go straight to the giveaway entry form, go here.

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.” -John 15:4 (NASB)

Take my survey here. It helps if you are familiar with my blog

Keep an eye out for upcoming posts

I’m planning some really cool posts coming up so watch out for them. You may have noticed I usually use the ESV translation. I did that because I was doing a series on Calvinism and some Calvinists only accept the ESV translation. However, NASB is much more accurate (although no translation is perfect), so all posts prior to this post will use the NASB translation. I may end up doing a post on why NASB is so much more accurate and how ESV has a Calvinistic bias.

Thank you! I’m running out of time or I would write more. I can hardly believe that I have reached 100 followers! Thanks for all of your support.

“Then shall the trees of the forest sing for joy
before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth.
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever!” -1 Chronicles 16:33-34 (ESV)

My Summer in Review

Hello, and welcome back to Faith on the Farm! You have probably seen a lot of these sort of posts in the last couple of weeks, as summer comes to a close and we all reflect on how our summers were spent.

In everything I do my biggest question to myself is “Was this done to glorify God? Did I grow?”. So…..did everything I did this summer glorify God? Did I grow this summer? For the first question all I can say is “I hope so”. I’m not perfect, I make mistakes, and this summer was no exception. However, I’m always growing in my faith, and I hope I can have humility and learn from my mistakes. On the second question, the answer is an empathetic “Yes”. Yes, indeed! I grew so much this summer, and as painful as some of it was, I am so very thankful for it all.

One of the biggest ways I grew was by volunteering as a camp counselor at a local Christian camp. There is simply so much patience and humility that can only be learned from kids. I also learned that I simply cannot compromise on my time with God everyday, no matter how busy I am.

With the rest of this post, I would like to review some of the goals and plans I had for my summer that I wrote about in my post “Schedules and Plans“.

Here is a quote from the post:

What other stuff do I want to do this summer?

  • I want to learn Symphonic Variations for cello (It’s pretty hard).
  • I want to continue to read. A lot.
  • I need to organize my desk (notice I said NEED TO not want to).
  • I want to improve my photography skills.
  • Most importantly, I want to dramatically improve my prayer life and Bible study. I want to thirst for God’s word and feed on it. I want to rely entirely on God. I want that God would be my joy continually and that He would lead me, and help me, and uphold me. Amen

On Symphonic Variations…….well I can mostly play through the first three out of six pages. Does that count? I really wasn’t very focused on cello this summer, and I was actually feeling a little discouraged about it. I’m hoping that being on a schedule of some sorts will help me to practice more consistently.

I really didn’t have time for reading……..I can’t even think of any particular book that I read.  I did read a fair amount though. Just not as much as I wanted to. I’m currently halfway through a book called “When People are Big, and God is Small” by Edward T. Welch. So far it is an excellent read, so I recommend it, and I will probably finish it in a couple of days. Now that school has started, I actually have much more time for reading, and plan to read quite a lot.

YAY!!!! Something I actually did……I actually organized my desk. Of course it was kind of necessary for the school year, but I did it! And now my desk is nice and clean and straight, and the drawers are pretty much tidy. In case you are wondering what my desk looks like now, I will give a very brief description. My desk is a wooden desk with four drawers, and it is completely empty on top except for my bible, which is currently resting there. So no, I don’t really decorate my desk, although I do have a big sign that says “Have You Practiced Cello Yet Today?” and a quote by Joan of Arc, taped to the wall by it.

My photography…I don’t know. I might have improved my photography skills a millimeter, but I really didn’t do much photography other than the photos that I shared in this post. I mean, I did take something around 300 or more photos, but most of them are deleted or not high enough quality. I guess if I try to think all the way back to before June, then my photography has probably improved.

Now on the last and most important point, I think I have a lot to work on. I really feel like this last week, I have really been failing at this. Although I’ve been reading my bible a lot and praying a fair amount, my mind wasn’t really focused on it, and as a result, it felt rather dry. I think this needs to be a continued goal and focus.

About the WordPress Christian Blog Directory, to be honest, I did absolutely zero work on it. If I have time I will work on it, but until then, I will just have to wait. So be patient.

So what have I done this summer? I volunteered at a Christian camp and got to share the gospel with kids. I moved lots and lots of sprinklers, and have been able to see my hard work pay off by seeing dry, rain-thirsty land become green and lush with pasture.

I spent time with my family and have become even closer to my siblings. I’ve fed countless bottles to little baby goats.

I cleaned and organized my desk. I grew so much in my relationship with Christ, and learned a lot about Him, as well as myself. Oh, I would never trade this summer for anything, and I’m so very thankful for it!!!!!!!!

For this fall, I’m preparing to launch into studying for my upcoming series “Think on these Thing”. An introduction to the series should come out in a couple of weeks. I will continue to post once a week on Saturdays until further notice, along with an occasional post on Wednesdays.

Starting Monday, I’m going to start journal writing daily to help me develop consistency in my writing. I’m kind of excited to be writing daily, and I might occasionally share the best of my writing here.

Thanks for reading this post! If you have any thoughts on it, please share via my contact form here. I really appreciate hearing from you!

If you haven’t taken my survey, you can take it here!  Also, I really need your opinion on what I should do when I reach 100 followers. Should I do another Q&A like I did here? Would you like to do some sort of collab with me? Please tell me your thoughts! Comment here or use my contact form here. I need to know soon, because my current tally is 91 followers!

Have a wonderful week!

let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
For he is our God,
and we are the people of his pasture,
and the sheep of his hand.” -Psalm 95:6-7 (ESV)

Schedules and Plans

Hello, welcome back to Faith on the Farm!! Today I will be sharing my prospective plan for blogging this summer, and some other goals and hopes. The nice thing about schedules and plans is that you can break them whenever you want to. For instance, if I was planning to write about one thing, but God was telling me that I really needed to write about something else, I can simply write whatever God wants me to.

There has been a demand for more farm-related posts, so whenever I have time, I will add farm updates and stuff to post on Wednesday, in between my regular posts.

During the summer, my posts will be scheduled to post on Saturday. However, I will be changing it (Lord willing) to Friday in the Fall.

So, without any further ado, here is the plan!!

2 more extensive spiritual life sort of posts:

  • July 21- The Purpose of Prayer
  • August 4- Serving Wholeheartedly

2 photography posts:

  • July 28- Recent Photography (Where I try to pick my best 8 pictures that I’ve taken so far this summer)
  • August 11- Me and My Cello

The rest of the summer:

  • August 18- Beloved
  • August 25- Something Like a Farm Tour
  • August 31- My Summer in Review

For Fall (which starts September 14th in my blogging mind), I’m very excited to announce a new series, that will last pretty much all of Fall. This is a series that the Lord has really laid on my heart as something I need to think about, talk about, and write about. It will be series based on Philippians 4:8.

And the title of this series is…………….

“Think on These Things”

Now that I am done with blogging plans, I will move on to summer plans in general.

This summer, I am volunteering for a couple weeks out of the summer, as a counselor at a Christian camp. On the weeks where I have camp, my blog posts will be written ahead of time and scheduled to post when I said they would be. It is my prayer that in these couple of week at camp, God would use me in ways that I have not known before. Please pray that I would be a light to the kids, and everyone around me.

Other than camp, I have a couple of other projects I’m working on this summer.

For one thing, I’m going to try to not eat as much sugar, to exercise, and get up at 6 or earlier (while still making sure to get in bed by 9 or earlier so that I get enough sleep).

———————————————————————————————————

What other stuff do I want to do this summer?

  • I want to learn Symphonic Variations for cello (It’s pretty hard).
  • I want to continue to read. A lot.
  • I need to organize my desk (notice I said NEED TO not want to).
  • I want to improve my photography skills.
  • Most importantly, I want to dramatically improve my prayer life and Bible study. I want to thirst for God’s word and feed on it. I want to rely entirely on God. I want that God would be my joy continually and that He would lead me, and help me, and uphold me. Amen

Thanks for reading about my goals, plans, and aspirations!

Note: Thanks to anyone who took my survey. However, for some reason, the questions I really wanted to hear answers to were not replied to. The questions were what can I do to improve. I would love to hear constructive criticism. I have not heard any feedback as to my writing, and would like to note that I would not feel the slightest bit hurt if you tore my writing apart and pointed out all my flaws, in order to help me improve. Thanks! You can take my survey here.

I pray that this blog would be a service and a light. If there is any way I can serve you through this blog or pray for you I would love to hear it. Please contact me here.

Thank you so much to you, reader, and to all my supporters and followers!!! I am very blessed.

“Blessed is the man who makes
    the Lord his trust,
who does not turn to the proud,
to those who go astray after a lie!”

-Psalm 40:4 (ESV)
