Beloved

Do you desire and long for someone to love you like no other? Are you patiently waiting for the ‘perfect person’? Or are you angry that although you have waited so long, it seems God wants you to be single forever. Maybe, you are wondering why you even feel such longings, since there is no way anything like that could ever happen.

Well, I have some news for you. It is among the best news in the whole universe. Here it is:

You don’t have to miss out. You can have it now.

You don’t have to wait for Mr. Right to come along. Lord Perfection is already here, and he’s holding out the ring. You don’t have to miss out on the beauty and joy found in true, self-sacrificing love. The greatest love anyone could ever feel for you; more love than you can ever imagine; this love is waiting for you.

If you are a Christian, you are already a bride waiting for her bridegroom, and you need nothing more. Christ is more than enough for all of your desires, for all of your longings, and all of your wants. He put those desires for intimate love inside of you for a reason, and although earthly marriage can be a huge blessing, earthly singleness provides one of the greatest chances for true and greater love. You don’t have to miss out.

The Lamb is on his knees before you, washing your feet. His love is greater than you could ever imagine. He gave his life to save you, his one and only bride. You were made for him, and he created you for himself. He will walk with you, and keep you, and hold you. He catches every tear and comforts your every fear. He holds the answer to every question you could ever have.

He calls you his beloved

He is yours and you are his, bought by the precious blood of Christ. Nothing can separate you.

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” -Romans 9:38-39

“‘Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God
    the Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and exult
    and give him the glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
    and his Bride has made herself ready;
it was granted her to clothe herself
    with fine linen, bright and pure’-

for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints

-Revelation 19:6-8

Are you discontent with singlehood? Are you longing for something more? You can find all you will ever need and more in Jesus Christ our Saviour. Wait, and hope in the coming of the Lord! God has much to do with you yet, and as Christians, we look forward only in joy, to the time when can be forever with our Lord.

Find contentment, joy, and peace in him alone.

“For God alone my soul waits in silence;
    from him comes my salvation.

He alone is my rock and my salvation,
    my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.
-Psalm 62:1-2

Remember that you are his beloved, truly.

Author: Faith on the Farm

I’m just a Christian girl who’s striving to glorify God here on the farm. I love sunsets, roses, my dog, and about everything you can photograph on a farm. As you’ve probably guessed, I love photography. When I’m not reading my bible or working on schoolwork, you’ll probably find me cooking, practicing cello, or somewhere outside with my dog by my side and camera in hand. I also love to sing my heart out to my Saviour.
